Introduction
The New Zealand Tertiary College (NZTC), a long-time partner of Selset for at least 15 years, recently visited us to catch up after a long absence since the pandemic. NZTC was happy to be back in Malaysia to reconnect with students and partners.
Background on New Zealand Tertiary College
NZTC is New Zealand’s premier institution specialising in Early Childhood Education, having focused on This field since 1982. It has campuses in Auckland and Christchurch. NZTC has a huge number of partnerships with Early Childhood centres in New Zealand and international college partnerships, such as with Methodist College in Malaysia.
The Visit
Mr Sanil Haria, the International Marketing Manager, visited Malaysia to provide updates and meet students interested in Early Childhood education.
Partnership Highlights
NZTC recognises the Diploma in Early Childhood Education at MCKL College to facilitate credit transfer into the Bachelor of Teaching/Education at NZTC, allowing students to complete the New Zealand degree in just two years.
Benefits for Malaysian Students
This partnership with MCKL provides Malaysian students with a recognised, risk-free, and cost-effective pathway to start an early childhood qualification in Malaysia and graduate in New Zealand.
NZTC’s Early Childhood Teaching degree is recognised for eventual registration with the New Zealand Teaching Council later. There is a strong demand for skilled Early Childhood educators in both New Zealand and Malaysia, and the NZTC—MCKL partnerships are relevant in producing employable graduates for both countries.
